Senior Program Manager

Reporting to the Deputy Director, the Senior Program Manager is a key contributor to the LA Conservation Corps’ success and sustainability by contributing to the accomplishment of the organization’s mission, business goals and vision. She/he will help establish new and maintain current development resources that will identify and cultivate funding to grow and sustain the organization. She/he will provide administrative guidance and support for the organization’s programs. The primary responsibility of the Senior Program Manager is to ensure the deliverability of programs and services for the purpose of enhancing the development of youth and communities served by the Corps.  Other duties may be assigned, as required.

Essential Functions

  • Reviews program spending and budgeting.
  • Assists in the development of annual budgets for the site.
  • Oversees contract compliance and program outcomes.
  • Maintains necessary files and documentation for contractual requirements.
  • Appropriates human and material resources to ensure services are completed successfully and within budget.
  • Works with Deputy Director and development staff to identify and foster new funding opportunities.
  • Responsible for program deliverables, goals, and outcomes.
  • Determines objectives and goals for the program and program partners.
  • Plans and attends regular program meetings to ensure that operations and program goals are being met.
  • Participates in monthly Senior Management Team meetings, Safety Meetings, and Financial Meetings.
  • Supports Grant Writer by writing proposals for funding as opportunities arise.
  • Works and communicates with program sponsors, local community organizations and other public and private agencies to guarantee that scheduled goals are met.
  • Submits weekly and or monthly progress reports in a timely manner. Reports should capture program progress accurately throughout the week and or month.
  • Prepares required reports on a weekly, monthly and/or quarterly basis.

  • Responsible for program deliverables, goals, and outcomes.
  • Assists in the safe, efficient and effective operation of the facility.
  • Oversees the advanced monthly scheduling of work crews to insure a seamless flow of work for short, mid and long term planning.
  • Ensures staff activities and program spending meet departmental and program goals.
  • Oversees and manages program staff.
  • Monitors, reviews and submits for approval all recommended personnel actions proposed, RFI, and change orders.
  • Conducts quarterly and annual reviews for directly supervised employees.
  • Provides direction and staff development opportunities to LA Corps’ staff and corpsmembers.
