Senior Vice President, Development

Alzheimer’s Greater Los Angeles seeks an innovative, entrepreneurial and forwarding-thinking development professional to serve as Senior Vice President, Development. In January 2016, Alzheimer’s Greater Los Angeles unaffiliated with its prior national partner creating numerous opportunities that better aligned with the needs and nuances of the communities served across Los Angeles County and the Inland Empire. This decision and the resulting strategic planning process focused on the realities and opportunities related to the growing numbers of people impacted by the disease and the capacity of ALZGLA to meet the needs. ALZGLA works to improve the lives of local families affected by Alzheimer’s/Dementia by increasing awareness, delivering effective programs/services, providing compassionate support, and advocating for quality care and a cure. Reporting to the President/CEO as a key member of the leadership team, the Senior Vice President of Development will be responsible for managing the strategic direction and oversight of a comprehensive fund development program to ensure the organization’s ongoing success and sustainability. The successful candidate will be focused on building strategic alliances with diverse constituencies to drive major and planned giving commitments from funders and achieve fundraising goals. This individual will cultivate and grow a portfolio of donors while providing necessary leadership, motivation and support to a staff of up to eight. The Senior Vice President will play a pivotal role in the growth and evolution of this highly respected organization. Candidates will be expected to have experience leading and articulating a vision and plan for fundraising as well as the demonstrated ability to execute plans, reach goals, and develop staff and volunteers into a highly functioning team. The ability to passionately communicate ALZGLA’s mission is essential. The Senior Vice President of development should have a minimum of ten years of progressively responsible and successful fundraising experience, management experience of diverse development professionals, and experience working with board committees. Experience working in or a strong understanding of the Southern California region is a plus.
