Since 1931, JVS SoCal has empowered individuals with the skills, training, resources, and compassionate support they need to secure a better life. Nine decades later, the agency is a recognized regional leader in the field of workforce development, offering a broad range of innovative programs to tens of thousands of individuals each year and advocating on issues of public policy that impact the people JVS SoCal serves.
Today, more than 240 skilled and dedicated JVS SoCal staff members deliver services from over 20 sites throughout Los Angeles County and surrounding areas, assisting tens of thousands of clients each year through career training, veteran services, immigrants and refugees, scholarships, job centers, women empowerment, and disability services. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will oversee a complex organization with a $28 million annual budget, 80% of which currently originates from government funding. The successful candidate will be an innovative, global-thinking leader with exceptional interpersonal skills, and a genuine and compelling enthusiasm for JVS SoCal’s mission. The CEO must be a highly responsive, motivated, resourceful, and results-oriented leader with the ability to think strategically, prioritize and implement tasks, and set goals and objectives. Recognizing the diverse nature of JVS SoCal’s community, the successful candidate will be committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive work environment.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of ten years of progressively responsible executive experience, including a proven record of success managing a large staff and external constituencies as well as scaling an organization. Candidates from the for-profit sector are encouraged to apply. A bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
